The Review Meeting

Regardless of  the  FTR  format  which  is  chosen  every  review  meeting should  abide  through  the  following constraints:

  1. Among 3 ,5 people typically should be involved in the review;
  2. Advance preparation should occur but should need no more than 2 hours of work for every person; and
  3. The time in between of the review meeting should be less than 2 hours.

Given the above constraints it should be obvious which an FTR focuses on a specific and small category of the overall software. Example for rather than attempting to review an entire design walkthroughs are conducted for each small or module group of modules. With a narrower focus the FTR has a larger likelihood of uncovering errors.

The main focus of the FTR is on a work product-a part of the software example for a portion of a needs specification a detailed module design and a source code listing for a module.   The individual who has established the work product-at the producer -informs the project leader which the work product is complete and that a review is needed   the project leader contacts   a review leader, who evaluates the work product   for readiness. This Generates copies and distributes them to 2 or 3 reviewers for advance preparation. Each reviewer is expected to spend among 1 and 2 hours reviewing the work product making notes otherwise becoming familiar with the work. Similar, the review leader also reviews the work product and develop an end a for the review meeting that is typically scheduled for the next day.

The review meeting is attended through the review leader all reviewers and the producer one of the reviewers takes on the role of the recorder, which is the individual who records in writing all important issues increased during the review. The FTR starts with an introduction of the agenda and a brief introduction through the producer. The producer then go forward to walk through the   work product explaining the material when reviewers increase issues based on their advance preparation when valid problems or; bugs are discovered the recorder notes each.

At last of the review all attendees of the FTR must define whether to (1) accept the work product without modification. (2) To reject the work product due to severe errors once corrected, other review must be performed or (3) accept the work product provisionally minor errors have been encountered and must be corrected but no additional review will be needed.  The decision made all FTR attendees complete a sign-off representative their participation in the review and their concurrence with the review team's findings.
