Rotometer:
The column flow rate is classically denoted through a rotometer. It is operated through the volume of gas passing a ball in a tapered cell. The gas flowing past the ball causes it to increase to a calibrated equilibrium position denoted the flow. Most modern gas chromatographs incorporate rotometers as flow rate indicators. Figure displays the design of a classical rotometer.
