Tooling Considerations

Tooling is one of the most important elements in a manufacturing system and hence in FMS special attention need to be given to see that the right tools are made available for machining without any delay. The objectives of any tool management system in an FMS should be to provide the right tool at the right place at the right time. This can be done by looking at the following items in detail:
