A few of the general used word related along with flammable and combustible liquids are given below.

Auto-Ignition Temperature -

The minimum temperature at that a flammable mixture will ignite from its own heat source or contact along with a heated surface without necessity of a flame or spark.

Flash Point -

The  minimum  temperature  at  that  a  liquid  provides  off  vapor  in  enough concentration to form an ignitible mixture along with air near the surface of the liquid (under controlled test conditions).

Flammable Limits -

The minimum concentration of vapor within air below that propagation of flame does not occur on contact along with a source of ignition. This is known as the LFL (lower flammable limit).  There is also a maximum concentration of vapor or gas within air above that propagation of flame will not occur.  This is known as the UFL (upper flammable limit).

Flammable Range -

The difference among the lower and upper flammable limits and expressed within percentage of vapor or gas in air through volume.  Also called as the explosive range.

Propagation of Flame -

The spread of flame by whole volume of the flammable mixture from a one source of ignition.

Volatility -

A ability or tendency of a liquid to vaporize.

Oxygen Limits -

The concentration of oxygen below that a generally flammable vapor mixture will not ignite (generally 12 to 14 % oxygen).  An increase of pressure or temperature will decrease the needed lower oxygen limit, thus.

Rate of Diffusion -

The tendency of one gas or vapor to disperse within or mix along with another gas or vapor. Dependent upon the density of the gas or vapor as compared to air.

Vapor Pressure -

The pressure exerted through a volatile liquid under any of the conditions of equilibrium which might exist among the vapors and the liquid.

Oxygen Deficiency -

The designation provident to an atmosphere holding less than the percentage of oxygen generally found in air (<21%).

The volatility of liquids will rise as heat is applied to them.  Therefore, combustible liquids should be treated as flammable while they are heated even by the liquid, while not heated, is outside the flammable range.
