Common Strainers:
Part A displays a classical sump pump suction bucket strainer situated within the sump pump suction line among the suction manifold and the pump. Any debris which enters the piping is collected within the strainer basket. The basket could be erased for cleaning through loosening the strongback screws, erasing the cover, and lifting the basket out through its handle.
Part B of Figure display a duplex oil strainer generally used in fuel oil and lubricating oil lines, whereas it is necessary to manage an uninterrupted flow of oil. The flow might be diverted from one basket to the other, although one is being cleaned.
Part C of Figure displays a manifold steam strainer. This category of strainer is desirable whereas space is limited, since it eliminates the use of separate strainers and their fittings. A cover is situated so in which the strainer basket could be erased for cleaning.
