In that case of a masonry wall, the footing is commonly of cement concrete mix of ration 1: 4: 8: or 1: 5: 10 (cement: sand: coarse aggregate). A size of coarse aggregate is limited to 40 mm. Lime concrete could also be used for this reasons.

The masonry work over the bed concrete could be begin after 3 days of laying a concrete but curing along with in which of masonry should be continued.

For RCC column footings and raft foundations, a leveling course of lean concrete of 75 mm is laid within order to have an even and soil free surface for placing the reinforcement.
