Organisational Impact of ERP/IT Capabilities:
The flow of information is the key indicator of the way an enterprise may be modelled and integrated. It needs careful analysis of what, when and how, in terms of information that every entity needs. If it is done properly, half of the battle related to enterprise modelling is won. The capability of ERP/IT and their organisational impact is illustrated below:
Table: Organisational Impacts of ERP/IT Capabilities
The information domain of the enterprise should be looked into two sub-domains: physical and decisional. Physical domain is the information-linking of the enterprise entities. It is mostly affected by endogenous information. The decisional domain pertains to the planning and control aspects of the physical sub-systems of the enterprise. Its representation is given in Figure. The recognition of information domain, identification of related characteristics of information, and sharing of information without conflicts are the three key ingredients in an enterprise-modelling endeavour.
