Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical engineering is a subject of engineering that applies the principles of physics and materials science for design, analysis, production, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is area of engineering that includes the manufacturing and usage of heat and mechanical power for design, production, and operation of tools and machines. It is one of the oldest and widest engineering disciplines.
The engineering field needs an understanding of basic concepts involving mechanics, thermodynamics, kinematics, structural analysis, materials science and electricity. Mechanical engineers use these basic principles along with tools such as computer-aided engineering and product lifecycle management to design and examine manufacturing plants, heating and cooling systems, industrial equipment and machinery, transport systems, watercraft, aircraft, medical devices, robotics, and others.
