The Motivation For Energy Conservation
The main goal of energy conservation is to reduce the consumption of energy resources, without affecting the output or creation or economic activity. In order to attain this goal, it is essential to pursue two objectives concurrently:
• To affect a decrease in society’s demand for goods and services involving the expenditure of energy resources.
• To supply this (reduced) demand at the maximum possible effectiveness, that is with the expenditure of the least quantity of energy resources.
Government is mainly responsible for the fulfillment of the first objective, whereas the second one needs technical solutions and contributions from the engineering organization.
