Need For Integrated Approach
In order to attain the preferred energy saving, we require at least four groups of inputs:
• Science and Technology inputs, like from Thermodynamics, waste reduction methods, end-use matching strategies, ecological impact assessment, materials skill, town planning, architecture, and so on.
• Management inputs, like commitment of top management, overall quality management, training, productivity enhancement strategies, participatory management, continuing education, maintenance management, and so on.
• Policy inputs, like those determining subsidies, energy pricing, incentives, labor cooperation, work ethic, strategic planning, and so forth.
• Sociological inputs that determine standard of living, concern for posterity, quality of life, equity, ecological preservation, and so forth.
We require an integrated approach, integrating, for illustration, considerations of energy and atmosphere; conservation of energy and materials; recycling and reuse of energy & and materials; skill and management; education and training; energy and economics; defense vs development; population; population containment vs life-style adjustment; and so on.
