Personality tests
Of all of the tests required for selection, personality tests have produced lot of heat and controversy. The definition of personality, technique of measuring personality factors and the relationship among personality factors and definite job criteria has been the subject of much argument. Researchers have also questioned whether applicants answer all of the items truthfully or whether they attempt to respond in a socially wanted manner. Regardless of these objections, various people still consider personality as significant component of job success.
Personality tests are utilized to measure basic aspects of an applicant's personality like as inspiration, self-confidence, emotional balance, introversion, interpersonal behaviour, etc. The most often used tests are the Minnesota Multiphase Personality Inventory (MMPL), the California Psychological Inventory, Edwards Personal Performance Schedule, and the Manifest Anxiety Scale etc. Some of the items in personality inventory run therefore:
