Basic Testing Concepts
Another significant decision in the selection procedure involves applicant testing and the types of tests to use. A test is standardised, objective measure, of a person's behaviour, performance or attitude. This is standardised because the way the test is performed, the environment in which the test is administered and the way the particular scores are calculated - are applied uniformly. It is objective in that it attempt to measure particular differences in a scientific way, providing very little room for specific bias and interpretation.
Over the years, employment tests have not just gained significance but also a sure amount of inevitability in employment decisions. As they try to objectively determine how glowing an applicant meets job requirements, most of the companies do not hesitate to invest their time and money in choosing testing in a big way.
