Continuous Spectra:

As mentioned previously, the continuous spectra are caused through solids while heated. It is featured on the temperature of the emitting surface rather than the bulk of the material. These kinds of spectra are produced through condensed solids giving rise to innumerable atomic and molecular oscillations.  Heated solids are used as radiation sources of analytical instruments including IR, visible and longer wavelength UV radiations.
