Focus of Production:

The specialization of production facility in one or the other way is significant element of production strategy. This idea is called focused factory by Wickham Skinner. He proposed that a factory focusing on a narrow product mix for a specific market niche will outperform the conventional plant. Factories and service facilities may made focused in two ways specializing either in only a few product models or in a few production processes. The specialization prevents the facilities to become vulnerable to smaller and more specialized competitors.
