Dividers:
Dividers are utilized to divide curves or straight lines, to measure the distance from the scale and transfer it to the drawing, otherwise to transfer the distance from single part of the drawing to the another part.
Dividers are available in three basic kinds as:
(a) Plain dividers
(b) Dividers along with hair spring
(c) Bow dividers
Plain dividers contain two legs hinged at the upper end and are provided along with steel points at both the lower ending point. Through hair spring dividers it is possible to obtain minor adjustments near to a point along with the facility of an adjusting screw. Small bow dividers are adjusted via nut and are extremely convenient for marking minute divisions and a large number of short equivalent distances.
