Cylinder Block
The cylinder block, as display in Figure, is commonly a single unit made from cast iron. Within a liquid-cooled diesel, the block also gives the structure and rigid frame for the engine's cylinders, oil passages and water coolant, and support for the crankshaft bearings and camshaft.
