Bore and Stroke:
Bore and stroke are terms used to describe the size of an engine. As earlier begin, bore refers to the diameter of the engine's cylinder, and stroke refers to the distance the piston travels from the top of the cylinder to the bottom. A highest point of travel through the piston is called TDC (top dead center), and the lowest point of travel is known as BDC (bottom dead center). There are 180o of travel among TDC and BDC, or one stroke.
Engine Displacement:
Engine displacement is one of the words used to compare one engine to another. It refers to the total volume displaced through all the pistons in during one stroke. The displacement is commonly provided in cubic inches or liters. To compute the displacement of an engine, a volume of one cylinder have to be determined (volume of a cylinder = (?r2) h where h = the stroke). A volume of one cylinder is multiplied through the number of cylinders to acquire the whole engine displacement.
