General Knowledge
Additionally to organisational knowledge and job knowledge, managers should possess general knowledge, like the external environment interacts with and affect the business. The general knowledge contain the knowledge regarding the economic conditions of the country & the world in general, in respect of main areas like prices, GNP per capita income, several other industries, other sectors of the economy, social factors, political conditions etc. General knowledge may be gained through special meetings, special courses, and specific readings.
Special courses: Special courses - as the workshops or executive development programmes organised by the universities, institutes and colleges help the trainees to gain general knowledge.
Special meetings: Special meetings held in Voluntary Organisations, Consumers' Forums, etc., help the trainees to improve their general knowledge.
Specific readings: particular articles published by several journals, specific portions of significant books are provided to the trainees to develop their general knowledge.
