Load Sizes Determination

Load size determination is the most significant element in the design of an AS/RS and is depends on work flow information. The movement frequency of, tools, parts fixtures, pallets, and other supplies define the total work flow. Work flow is fine out by variety & volume of part types & the type of production system. The length, width and height of rack structure of the AS/RS aisle are associated to the unit load dimensions.

The dimensions of the unit loads with appropriate clearances provide the individual storage space dimensions & account for the size of supporting beams in the rack structure. Storing unique items of unusual and complicated shape are excluded from the AS/RS design. Weight of the unit load is also considered in the structural design.
