Moisture Rising from the Ground
The sub-soil or ground on that the building is constructed might be made of soils that simply provide an access to water to create dampness in buildings, through the foundations. Commonly, the foundation dampness is caused while the building structures are constructed on low-lying waterlogged areas, while a sub-soil of clay or peat is generally found, by which dampness will simply rise under capillary action unless properly treated. This dampness addition finds its way to the floors, walls, etc. by the plinth.
