Detectability:

The term detectability refers to the minimum amount that can be detected. It is also termed as sensitivity. Within the case of detectors, it can be calculated based on certain assumptions such as detection at two or three times the noise stage observed at the baseline. Sensitivity could also be denoted practically. Sensitivity could be improved through properly optimizing the separation conditions by using the similar detector. Sensitivity assumes paramount importance when the quantity of mixture to be analyzed is very small or trace impurities for obtaining an ultrapure material are to be assayed.
