Chemical Addition:

A chemical addition to a system which alters the chemical reaction or tie up a particular corrodant is a general method of control. Filming amines (organic compounds which are derivatives of ammonia) accomplish protection through forming adhering organic films on metal surfaces to avoid contact among corrosive species in the condensate and the metal surface. Sodium hydroxide and Phosphates are used to adjust the system pH and erased hardness.
