Correction for Temperature:
Correction for temperature is applied if the temperature within the field is more than the temperature at that the tape/chain was standardised. This correction (Ct) is given through the following formula:
Ct = α (Tm - T0 ) L
where, α = Coefficient of thermal expansion,
Tm = Mean temperature in the field during measurement,
T0 = Standard temperature for the tape, and
L = Measured distance.
