Correction for Pull:
Correction for tension or pull is applied while during measurement the applied pull is more than the pull at that the tape was standardised. As far as probable the pull applied during the field observation should be equivalent to the standardised pull so in which the correction becomes zero. Therefore, if different pull is essential, this correction (CP) is given by:
C p = (P - P0/AE)L
where, P = Pull applied during measurements (kg or N),
P0 = Standard pull,
L = Measured length,
A = Cross-sectional area of the tape (cm2 or mm2), and
E = Young's modulus of elasticity (kg/cm2 or N/mm2).
