Control Stations:
Control stations perform the function of a controller and give further controls and indicators to permits an operator to manually adjust the controller output to the final control element.
Figure displays the front panel of a typical control station. It holds various indicators and controls. Each and every will be discussed.

The setpoint indicator is situated within the center of the upper half of the controller, denotes the setpoint (desired value) selected for the controller. The scale might be marked 0 percent to 100 percent or correspond straightly to the controlled variable example for 0 - 1000 psig or -20°F to +180°F.
The setpoint adjustment, situated right of the setpoint indicator, is a thumbwheel category adjustment dial which permits the operator to select the setpoint value. Through rotating the thumbwheel, the scale moves under the setpoint index line.
