The Buyer Decision Process for New Products
We have looked at stages buyers go through in attempting to satisfy a need. Buyers can pass rapidly or slowly through these stages, and some of the stages can even be reversed. Much depends on the nature of buyer, product, and the buying situation.
We now look at how buyers method the purchase of new products. A new product is a, service, good or idea that is perceived by some potential customers as new. It can have been around for a while, but our interest is in how consumers learn regarding products for the first time and make decisions on whether to take up them. We define adoption procedure as "the mental process through which specific passes from first learning regarding an innovation to last adoption, and adoption as the decision by an specific to become a regular user of the product.
