Actual Lying of Arch Work

After the erection or installation of centering, skewbacks are first prepared to receive voussoirs. Voussoirs are then arranged in required and proper forms, beginning from skewbacks and proceeding towards the crown. At last, key-stone is inserted so in which all the voussoirs are locked in position. The voussoirs are bedded or laid in definite courses in sequence along with radial joints to ensure stability and strength of the arch.
