Crushing Strength of Concrete

To fix the average crushing strength of concrete for laboratory conditions is the first step in designing a mix. A concrete mix shall be designed for greater strength than needed since the working conditions in the field are not controlled as in the laboratory. An ISI code specifies that the crushing strength for which the mix should be designed in the laboratory should be 1.25 times the strength actually required.
