Design Mixes:

Design mix depends upon the type of cement, quality of the fine and coarse aggregate, amount of water used. The other factors like the workability; compacting equipment, curing technique adopted, etc. have to be considered before arriving at the mix proportion. This technique also does not guarantee the correct mix for the designed strength, by the figures are arithmetically correct. Trial mixes are necessary. The design mix will serve as a guide only.
