Objectives
After studying this unit, you should be able to
• describe the relative importance of sanitation to the public health which varies with respect to a number of geographical, seasonal, social, and microbiological factors,
• explain physical, chemical and biological characteristics indicators of waste water quality,
• appreciate from an engineering viewpoint, the need of rationally selected, integrally planned and suitably designed wastewater management systems, and
• discuss several means of disposal of waste water and storm water.
