Automated Material Handling
Automated material handling (AMH) systems develop efficiency of transportation, storage & retrieval of materials. For examples computerized conveyors, and automated storage & retrieval systems (AS/RS) in which computers direct automatic loaders to pick & place items. Automated guided vehicle (AGV) systems utilize embedded floor wires to direct driverless vehicles to several locations in the plant. Advantage of AMH systems includes faster material movement, lower inventories and storage space, decreased product damage & higher labour productivity.
