Geometrical Modeling of Curves:
Geometric modelling is an integral part of any Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) system. A geometric model is described as the complete representation of graphical & non-graphical information of an object. Geometric modelling provides the user to make a geometric model of an object on a CAD/CAM system by inputting the object data as needed by the modelling technique via the user interface needed by the software. Then the software converts such data into a mathematical representation which it stores in the model database for later use. The user can retrieve and edit the model during the design and (or) manufacturing process by using the model database.
Geometric modelling is the beginning point in a CAD/CAM system for the product design and manufacture. Therefore, a geometric model has become a core for the other CAD functions such like finite element analysis (FEM), automated drafting to construct engineering drawings (CADD) and generating NC programs to make parts on NC/CNC machines.
