Any CNC system has following elements:
- Part program
- Machine control unit
- Machine tool
- Drive system
- Feedback system
- Program input device
Machine Tool
CNC controls are utilized to control various types of machine tools. Irrespective of type of machine tool is to be controlled, a machine have one or two motion axes (X and/or Y) perpendicular to the work head & one motion axis (Z) parallel to the work head. Some machines are equipped along index tables that permit rotary motions (A, B, or C) around the linear axes (X, Y, or Z).
