GUI based Clients
GUI (Graphical User Interface) based Clients are Windows based and works on bit-mapped interface rather than character-based one. Within a bit-mapped screen, the interface resolution is a bit or a pixel. This makes possible a greater resolution on the Computer monitor and as a result, other graphical visual presentations and pictures are possible. The GUI based clients, as their name suggest, take benefits of the graphical native look-and-feel environment and provide a lot of intuitive characteristics to the users involving multi-media and video motion picture interface. Images with command buttons, 3D effect, pick-and-choose objects, and selection through clicking over the region via mousses are some of the features of a GUI based interface.
GUI based Clients address closer to real-world application situations and help user to work in a more interactive and intuitive manner. Subsequent figure presents one such GUI based Client interface.

GUI based clients are of non-procedural categorized that means programming efforts are greatly decreased. Visual possibilities increased intuitive learning and the GUI based front-ends could very well sit over a desktop and access information by a workgroup environment. The GUI based clients are fast catching up and becoming the de facto standards of the operations.
