Styrene-divinylbenzene gel (Styragel):

It is a class of polystyrene gels useful for purely non-aqueous separations in methylene chloride, toluene, trichlorobenzene, tetrahydrofuran and so on. It cannot be used along with water, acetone and alcohol. These macroreticular gels have fractionation range from 1600 to 40 million. Styragel is available in 11 various types. These are manufactured through Dowex Chemical Co. and sold by Waters Associate. Styragel is available suspended in diethylbenzene. A bead is rigid and the solvent could be simply exchanged even after the bed has been packed. The beads are supposed not to modify their volume with change of solvent.
