Molybdenum Disulphide
Possesses very low coefficient of friction and is constant in air upto 400oC. Its fine powder might be sprinkled on surfaces sliding at high velocities, while it fills low spots in metal surfaces, forming thin film. It is also utilized along with solvents and in greases.
Besides the more significant graphite and molybdenum disulphite, other substances like, talc, mica, soapstone etc. are also utilized as solid lubricants.
