Straight Bevel Gears:
These gears contain straight teeth that are radial to the point of intersection of the shaft axes. Their teeth differ in cross section throughout their length. In general, they are utilized to connect shafts at right angles. These gears are illustrated in given fig. The teeth make line contact as spur gears.

Like a special case, gears of the similar size and joining two shafts at right angle to each other are called mitre gears.
