Classification Based on Material and Workmanship
On the basis of material of construction and workmanship, arches may be classified as follows:
Stone arches
Rubble arch, ashlar arch.
Brick Arches
Rough arch, axed or rough-cut arch and gauged arch, purpose made arch.
Concrete Arches
Concrete block units arch, monolithic arch. A brief description of the above types is given below.
