Introduction to Surveying
Surveying is the method of making measurements of objects on, beneath or above the ground to show their relative positions on paper. The relative position required is vertical or horizontal or both.
Less precisely in their horizontal positions the term Surveying is used to the measurement of objects. Measurements to determine their relative vertical positions are known as levelling.
