PLASTICS

Plastic is an organic material which is prepared out of resin. It may or may not contain plasticisers, fillers and solvents. Plastic may be natural or synthetic organic material which has the property of being plastic at some stage of their manufacture when they can be moulded to required shape and size.

Bitumen and Shellac are the natural resins which are used as plastic for a long time. In the year 1907, from the reaction of phenol and formaldehyde Black land produced synthetic resin .The resin was hardened under pressure and heat to generate useful plastic articles.
