Pitched Roofs

Sloping roof are used in the areas of heavy rain falls and snow fall. The slope of roof will be more than 10°. They can also have slopes as much as 45° to 60°. The sloped roofs are called as pitched roofs. In large spanned structures like workshops, factory buildings and ware houses the sloping roofs are preferred. Covering sheets such as A.C. sheet, G.I. sheets, tiles, slates etc. are supported on suitable structures in all these roofs. The pitched roofs are classified into following:

(1) Single roofs      

(2) Double or purlin roofs

(3) Trussed roofs.
