Battened, Ledged and Braced Doors
From using battens and ledges diagonal members if doors are wide apart, known as braces, are provided to strengthen the door. Given figure shows a typical ledged, battened, and braced door.

Sometimes within wooden frame work above two types of shutters are provided and in those cases they may be called as ledges, battened and framed doors.
