The Meerwein arylation is a chemical reaction including the addition of an aryl diazonium salt (ArN2X) to an electron-poor alkene generally supported by a metal salt. The resultant product is an alkylated arene compound. The reaction is named for Hans Meerwein, one of its inventors who initially published it in 1939.
