Di-calcium Silicate (C2S):
It possesses the following properties:
(a) It hydrates slowly.
(b) It generates less heat of hydration.
(c) It hardens more slowly.
(d) It contributes a little in early strength development.
(e) It provides good ultimate strength to the cement.
(f) It has much more resistance to sulphate attack.
