Following are the main features of centrifugal casting process:

• Procedure is suitable just for products that have rotational symmetry.
• General procedure is economical for ring shaped objects, tabular shaped objects and hollow cylinders that mean compressor cases, furnace rollers, winding spools etc.
• No core is required to form the bore as in static casting.
• Temperature gradients throughout cooling might be controlled to some extent by controlling speed of rotation. Centrifugal pressures might be applied to advantage in verifying premature freezing & imparting strength to the casting.

Major advantage of centrifugal casting is that the porosity free castings are attained.
