Uses and Benefits of stacked canvases:

• Scrolling views as generated through Oracle Designer
• Creating an overlay effect inside a single window
• Displaying headers which display constant information, like as company name
• Creating a cascading or a revealing effect inside a single window
• Displaying additional information
• Displaying information conditionally
• Displaying context sensitive help
• Hiding information

Note:   If a data block holds more items than the window can display, A Form Builder scrolls the window to display items outside the window frame. That can cause important items, like as primary key values, to scroll out of view.  Through placing important items on a content canvas and placing the items which can be scrolled out of sight on a stacked canvas with this the stacked canvas becomes the scrolling region, other than the window itself.
