As far as possible services such as concealed conduits, pipes etc. should be planned along with the help of vertical chases, although horizontal chases should be prevented. For load bearing walls, the depths of vertical and horizontal chases shall not exceed one-third and one-sixth the thickness of the masonry, correspondingly.
