Layout Lines at Right Angles
Lines at right angle are laid out through placing the body of square against a machined edge of the work which is at right angle to the first edge. The common steps are as follows:
(1) Remove all burrs from the edge of the work along with a file.
(2) Slide the square along with the work until the edge of the rule is at preferred distance.
(3) Hold the base of the square tightly in opposition to the machined edge with the blade of the rule remaining flat on the work surface.
(4) Scribe the line through keeping the point of scriber against the edge of the rule.
(5) Make sure the location of scribed line.
