Although there is no legal obligation to audit personnel practices and policies, some of the modern organisations have accepted it due to definite compelling reasons:
a) Enhancing size of the organisation and personnel in various organisations.
b) Modifying philosophy of management towards human resources.
c) Enhancing strength and influence of trade unions.
d) Modifying human resources management philosophy and thereby personnel policies and practices throughout the world.
e) Enhancing dependence of the organisation on the human resources system and its effective functioning.
