Modern atomic absorption spectrophotometers Assignment Help

Assignment Help: >> Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer - Modern atomic absorption spectrophotometers

Modern atomic absorption spectrophotometers:

Modern atomic absorption spectrophotometers commonly have the following features:

  • These have a lamp turret capable of holding at least four hollow cathode lamps emitting the absorption lines for various elements. These have an independent current stabilised supply for each element.
  • The sample area is capable of incorporating an autosampler that could work along with both flame and furnace atomisers. Improved analytical precision is acquired while an autosampler is used in conjunction along with a furnace atomiser.
  • The monochromator is capable of high resolution classical 0.04 nm, a feature more desirable if the AAS is adapted for flame emission work though good resolution is also desirable for several elements in AAS.
  • The photomultipliers are able to function over a huge wavelength range of 180 - 800 nm.
  • The instruments are equipped along with a background correction facility.
  • An instruments have an integral video screen facility for the ease of operation.

A modern software package involves help facilities, full graphical data presentation, fully data storage and flexible data generation. Software must optimise flame and spectrometer parameters including furnace temperature.
